Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series is expected to launch around mid-September 2025. Although the US tech giant is yet to confirm an official date, analyst David Phelan says that the iPhone 17 series is most likely to launch on 9th September.
Apple’s launch in the first week of September seems unlikely as it will clash with the big consumer electronics event, IFA, in Berlin. Phelan also predicts that if there is no production delay, the launch will not happen after 15th September.
Even before the launch of iPhone 17, there has been a lot of buzz about the new features and Apple’s recent iOS 26 update. The excitement of the fans is also quite high, so let’s see what other new products of Apple can come in the market in the next few months.
Is Apple working on new display technology for this phone?

According to a Forbes report, Apple is developing new OLED display technology for its iPhones that will consume less power. While this upgrade won’t make it to the iPhone 17 or 18, it will lead to better visuals in the future.
An old report by 9to5mac cited TheElec as saying “Apple is reviewing a plan to introduce new low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays in iPhone models by 2027.”
Apple iOS26 Smart RAM, Storage Features
On June 9, just 3 days after announcing the latest version of iOS 26, Apple released its second public build. According to reports, this unexpected move may have been done to address battery or security issues.
A big highlight of this update is the Smart Storage feature, which dynamically manages memory and reserves space during installs and updates.
If you are not familiar with this technology, then let us tell you that Apple already uses temporary storage management during updates, but the new feature will probably give the system the ability to continuously reserve and manage space as part of background maintenance.
Know what is Apple’s upcoming MacBook Pro upgrade
There is a lot of speculation about Apple’s MacBook Pro upgrade coming in 2026. It is being said that this time we will see a major redesign of the MacBook Pro, in which LED displays will be removed and advanced OLED technology will be used.
According to Forbes report, “The OLED MacBook Air is expected to feature a standard single-stack display, not the more advanced Two-Stack Tandem displays we reported for the MacBook Pro.
Single-stack displays have a red, green and blue layer, while Two-Stack Tandem OLEDs also have a second RGB layer. Stacking the two layers in tandem increases screen brightness and lengthens life.”
What New AI Features Can Apple Fans Look Forward To?
While Apple is lagging behind other players in the generative AI space, fans may have to wait until after 2026 to see a practical AI release.
In a recent research shared by Apple, they also questioned the claims of AI competitors like OpenAI, raising doubts about the “reasoning” abilities of their advanced models.
In particular, researchers have challenged the claim of companies like OpenAI that their advanced models can “reason”- an ability that the Altman-led company has been using heavily in marketing over the past few months. The Apple team has described it as just an “illusion of thinking”, according to a Forbes report that was part of this research.
